The Ghatam is widely used in South Indian classical Carnatic music. It is taller and wider than the Matka or Jug Drum. Played by rapping on the outside, a range of sounds are possible!
Please note these are individually hand made and have a variety of unique characteristics such as pitting, surface cracks, and asymmetrical shapes. Because of this, they will have an artisanal quality to them.
